It is national Thank You Day and we want to thank our clients, suppliers and partners for the amazing support they continue to show us in everything we do. And if the circumstances of the past year and a bit have shown us anything, it is that there are so many others who work incredibly hard and are deserving of a huge Thank You!

The amazing doctors, nurses, other healthcare professionals and everybody else within the NHS who have worked extremely hard in very difficult situations. Those in the supermarket, retail and food industries who ensured the nation had access to food and other essentials throughout lockdowns. The public transport employees who kept the nation moving, getting people where they needed to be. Every single person involved in the creation and rollout of the vaccine.

The hard work and effort put in by key workers has been so important to the resilience and positive attitude felt across the nation throughout the course of the pandemic and we are so appreciative of it all.

Showing support and respect to those who serve in the armed forces is a cause that is held close to heart by many here at Keystone Electronics. Our Managing Director’s Grandfather served in the Royal Infantry Corps, receiving several medals throughout his service, and it is for him and many others that we so proudly show our support for The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.

We are proud of the consistently high level of product we provide to our clients, however we know that this wouldn’t be possible without the hard work, dedication and support of our associates in China.

New Year is of course a time of much celebration in China and after the year we’ve all experienced we’re sure an opportunity to celebrate will be very welcome! At Keystone Electronics we’re proud to be part of the local community and we believe it is important to provide support to those within our community whenever possible. We have recently given our support to some fantastic causes which we are very keen to highlight.

The Children’s Information Centre works within local communities to provide information and guidance aimed at helping at-risk and vulnerable children across the UK. This is a hugely important issue and we’re so proud to offer our support to the CIC and the ongoing child safety initiatives that they are running throughout our local area. We have also made a donation to CaringBridge, a nonprofit charity which offers people suffering from illness the opportunity to keep in touch with friends and family, providing updates on their own personal health journey. This is a terrific resource and allows for those who are sick to stay connected with their loved ones in an easy, stress-free manner. Given the circumstances over the past year this service has become more important than ever.

Finally, we have an advert in Birmingham City FC’s 2021 Year Planner and will be included in the 2021 Journal, due to be published in June or July. It goes without saying that sporting clubs are very important within local communities. As well as providing fans a welcome escape from the difficult situation everybody is currently experiencing, Birmingham City FC are also actively involved in improving the lives of those within their community via the BCFC Community Trust.

Keystone’s KE00300 multifunctional UV Light Box – a valuable aid in sterilizing Smartphones.

In 2012 the University of Arizona published a rather disturbing study revealing that phones (and smartphones in particular) can carry 10 times more bacteria than most toilet seats!

A more recent report in October of this year from researchers at Australia’s National Science Agency concluded that Covid-19 can remain infectious on phone screens for up to 28 days, compared to previous studies that had suggested it could only survive between two and three days on glass and up to six days on plastic.

However, a 2017 study from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) found that UV light was the most effective way to sanitise 100 per cent of bacteria on a smartphone, beating a 70 per cent ethanol spray, a disinfectant spray, germicidal wipes and baby wipes.
